I like to think I'm about as close to a "Renaissance Man" as one can really get in the modern world. I have been able to pursue passions in music and art, languages, science and math. I sing, play piano and guitar (poorly), and occasionally write music). I'm a photographer, and I have traveled to and lived in many different places, some of them exotic, some of them mundane, all of them with some beautiful photographs to remember the experience. In my free time like to write, read way too many books, see movies in the cinema, and enjoy the company of friends. At least I did pre-Covid. I look forward to a time in the near future when I can once again see movies with friends.
I have been designing websites since 2007. Because of my proficiency in PHP, Wordpress became my content management system of choice. I have created websites for a variety of clients including Alasdair Hutton and the Canterbury House at Indiana University.
I create logos, digital art, and other graphics, often as part of my web design process, so my digital art has grown to be a happy marriage between my love of taking photos and creating beautiful images.
Writing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. From childhood, I have written stories, poetry, essays, and even op-eds. I'm passionate about making my writing and the writing of others the best it can be.
From 2010 to 2017, I worked as an editorial assistant for Anthropology of East Europe Review. I completed my MFA in writing in 2020 and am working on several editing projects as well as my novel tentatively titled Wolf's Landing.
For The Canterbury Fellowship at Indiana University, I completely redesigned their site, helped them integrate a mailing list and calendar into their site, and taught them how to make updates and changes so they could be in control of their site. I continue to assist with site maintenance and act as a resource for the site managers.
Consider It Done Transition Specialists had me redesign their existing site to reflect the change in their business. I rebuilt the site from the bottom up creating graphics, redesigning the layout, and making the site more blog friendly.
One of my favorite projects was creating the homepage for "The Voice of Scotland", Alasdair Hutton. This site was designed to be simple, elegant, and user friendly.
For this project I was responsible for creating the graphics, designing the site, and uploading the materials as they became available. Unfortunately, the project ran out of funding before the resources were finalized. Please note that the link below will go to the Internet Archive as the site is no longer available.
Feel free to send me a message if you are interested in collaborating on projects, want to know more about my work, or if you too think that Victor Fries is a more compelling character than Bruce Wayne.
